Acharya trailer: Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan revel in their mission to protect their homeland

The wait is over! The makers of Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan-starrer Acharya released the trailer of the film, which leaves the audiences in awe with powerful dialogues, action sequences, and the camaraderie of the father-son duo. The over 120-second-long video shows glimpses of Ram Charan's character in the first half and Chiranjeevi takes over the second half of the trailer.

Directed by Koratala Siva, Acharya is a contemporary take on misappropriation and embezzlement of temple funds and donations by the Endowments Department. A voiceover of Ram Charan in the trailer goes, "Divine forest on one side...holy water on the other...Padaghattam in the middle."

Chiranjeevi plays the role of a carpenter-turned-social reformer, while Ram Charan plays the role of a Naxalite. The film also features Kajal Aggarwal and Pooja Hegde in pivotal roles, with Sonu Sood playing the antagonist. The music of the film is composed by Mani Sharma.

Acharya is slated to release on May 29.
