Pawan Kalyan mourns the demise of K Vishwanath's wife, Jayalakshmi

Kasinadhuni Jayalakshmi, the wife of the late filmmaker K Viswanath passed away on Sunday. Her demise comes just days after the passing of K Vishwanath on February 2. She was 86 years old. She is survived by three children - two sons Ravindranath Viswanath, and Nagendranath Viswanath, a daughter, Padmavathi Viswanath, and six grandchildren. 

Releasing a statement mourning the demise of Jayalakshmi Viswanath, actor and politician Pawan Kalyan writes, "I am deeply saddened at hearing the news of the demise of Jayalakshmi Viswanath, the better half of the great filmmaker K Viswanath. To watch her soul depart a mere 24 days after the passage of K Viswanath to the heavenly realm is truly tragic. I pray to God that her soul rests in peace. Expressing the deepest of my sympathies to her loved ones."

K Viswanath (1930-2023) is widely considered one of Telugu cinema's finest auteurs. His films are often known for their unwavering focus on social reform and the revival of the classical arts. Vishwanath began his career as an audiographer. He then directed films like Shankarabharanam (1980), Sagara Sangamam (1983), Swathi Muthyam (1986), Swarna Kamalam (1988) and Swathi Kiranam (1992). K Viswanath was a recipient of the Padma Shri, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and five national awards.
