Ram Charan is the second Indian celebrity to appear on Good Morning America show

Actor Ram Charan, who is touring the US to attend promotional events ahead of the Academy Awards, appeared on the Good Morning America show in Manhattan, New York City. Ram Charan is the second Indian celebrity to feature on the show after his Zanjeer (2013) co-star Priyanka Chopra-Jonas. 

Briefing about his film RRR to the hosts, Ram Charan said, "It is a movie about great friendship, a great brother and camaraderie and it is one of the finest writings to come out of SS Rajamouli. SS Rajamouli is known as the Steven Spielberg of India. Everybody calls him that and I hope he is going to make his way to the global cinema very soon with his next film."

Talking more about Naatu Naatu, the single from RRR that won the Golden Globe and was nominated for the Academy Award under the Best Original Song category, Ram Charan said, "The song is a tribute to Indian cinema. It is not just about RRR, It is Indian cinema and Indian technicians who are being honoured globally. Just when we thought we have achieved everything and we can move on to the next project, the West showed us that this is just the beginning."

On a personal front, the actor is also expecting his first child with healthcare executive Upasana Konidela. Responding to congratulatory messages from the hosts and talking about his life as a to-be father, Ram Charan says, chuckling, "All these years when we were not planning , I was pretty available, right now I am living my life out of a suitcase." Ram Charan will be attending and presenting an award at the Hollywood Critics Association (HCA) Awards this Friday. Meanwhile, the 95th Academy Awards ceremony will be held on March 13.
