Dil Raju clears air on Karthikeya 2 controversy
The producer, in an emotional speech, asserted that he will never do anything that would affect the prospects of a film
Actor Nikhil Siddharth's emotional outburst over the delayed release of Karthikeya 2 has created ripples in the industry. Ever since then, a section of media has been pointing out fingers at producer Dil Raju for creating hurdles for the Chandoo Mondeti directorial.
Following the unprecedented run at the box office, the makers of Karthikeya 2 celebrated the success in the city on Tuesday with Dil Raju as the chief guest.
Speaking at length about the controversy, Dil Raju asserted that he will never do anything that would affect the prospects of a film. "I love cinema and till my last breath, I will strive for the welfare of cinema and I won't go back on my word whatsoever," he said.
The ace producer blamed a section of the media for deliberately portraying him in a poor light. "Some people unnecessarily went overboard and tried to tarnish my reputation. Those who read such stories should understand the fact that I never had or will create problems for any film. I will always try to help to the best of my abilities keeping our industry interests in mind," he added.
That's not all, the veteran has also thanked the makers of Karthikeya 2 for pushing their film to August 13. "Before deferring the release of Thank You from July 8 to 22, I had a word with the makers of Karthikeya 2 and they are kind enough to give away their slot to me. On this occasion, I congratulate the entire team and this success will certainly give new energy and excitement to our industry," he concluded.
