Kalaga Thalaivan: Udhayanidhi Stalin and Magizh Thirumeni promise a gritty action film

We had earlier reported about Udhaynidhi Stalin and Magizh Thirumeni teaming up for a film titled Kalaga Thalaivan. A day ahead of Deepavali, the makers have released its trailer. The film promises to be a gritty actioner akin to Magizh's earlier films like Thadam, Meagamann, and Thadayara Thakka. The trailer powered with the director's baritone voiceover has an intense-looking Udhayanidhi performing some stylised martial arts.

Kalaga Thalaivan has Nidhhi Agerwal as the female lead. Kalaiayarasan and Bigg Boss-fame Arav are also seen in the trailer. Earlier, there were speculations about the film being a political drama, but Magizh had clarified that it is an action thriller. According to the director, Kalaga Thalaivan means 'rebel leader' in English. The film has Srikanth Deva and Arrol Corelli as the music directors.

In addition to this film, Udhayanidhi Stalin has Maamannan in the making. Directed by Mari Selvaraj, the film is currently in the post-production stage. The actor has also signed a film with Kamal Haasan's banner Raaj Kamal Films International.
