'I lost a great friend; it is hard to comprehend the loss,' says Jayaram on Manobala's demise

The Veteran director turned actor Manobala breathed his last on Wednesday, succumbing to liver-related ailments. While the demise hit as a shock to his contemporaries, several from the film fraternity mourns in actor's untimely departure. Actor Jayaram, who is a close friend of Manobala, expressed his grief.

Jayaram spoke about his close rapport with Manobala "His last directorial was with me, and it was an ambitious project of his. Even before that, he planned a film with me, but unfortunately, that didn't materialise. He was a very close friend, and it is rare to find somebody who celebrates your joy like theirs. Mano sir was one among them. He never missed an occasion of appreciation. Whether I had a hit or even my son had a moment for celebration, Mano sir's call was given. Even not just professional success, he shared familial happiness as well. It is doubtful in the industry if anybody else has such a sense of humour as Mano sir had. He enjoyed even petite details in the conversation, and the rapport I shared with Mano sir is the same with Kamal Hassan sir and Crazy Mohan. And for me, it is something I cherish. I lost a great friend, and the demise is shocking, and it is hard to comprehend the loss."

Manobala, who was last seen in Ghosty and Kondraal Paavam, is survived by his wife and son. His last rites is expected to take place at his residence in Chennai on Wednesday.
