Here's what went behind the making Ponniyin Selvan II trailer

Directed by Mani Ratnam, the film has music by AR Rahman

With just a day left for the release of the trailer of Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan II, the makers shared a glimpse of what went behind creating the trailer on Tuesday. The film is all set to hit the theatres on April 28.

From creating a new work file, Mani Ratnam working with editor Sreekar Prasad on the edit table, AR Rahman in the recording session, recording for foley, after effects and VFX, to actors dubbing their portion, the video offers a sneak peek into all that went into making the trailer. It may be noted that the trailer and audio launch event will be held on Wednesday at Nehru Stadium. 

Directed by Mani Ratnam, the first part of Ponniyin Selvan was received very well and minted big at the box office. The epic period film features Karthi, Trisha, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R Parthiban. 

The film, based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel, is adapted by Mani Ratnam, along with Elango Kumaravel and B Jeyamohan. Produced under the Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions banners, Ponniyin Selvan was shot by Ravi Varman, while AR Rahman composed the music. The technical crew includes editor A Sreekar Prasad and production designer Thota Tharani.
