What to Watch This Week: From V3 to Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, a list of theatrical releases 

With the array of films releasing every week, it is quite difficult to keep track of what’s releasing where. To make your choice easily, here’s a list of films that are releasing in the theatres.

Dear Death- Tamil (January 5)
Directed by Prem Kumar and written by Sridhar Venkatesan, Dear Death stars Santosh Pratap and Sathish Nagarajan in the lead roles. The film is a drama surrounding the theme of death. The film portrays the perspective of death which is personified. Death narrates the story of four people he meets and explains his perspective. 

The Y- Hindi (January 6)
The Y stars Leonilla D Souza, Yuvan Hariharan, and Kamal Kumar Chimirayin in prominent roles and is directed by Girideva Raaj. The film is a horror thriller revolving around a young mute girl who gets married. The film then shows the couple’s life turning upside down as they start experiencing paranormal activities. 

Poovan- Malayalam (January 6)
Helmed by Vineeth Vasudevan, Poovan written by Varun Dhara stars Antony Varghese, Sajin Cherukayil Vineeth Vishwam, Varun Dhara, and Vineeth Vasudevan. Vineeth Vasudevan is to play a major role in the film. The film revolves around the life of Hari who sufferers from sleepless nights due to the arrival of a rooster next door. The movie has used comedy to tackle important social concerns in its screenplay. 

Vindhya Victim Verdict (V3)- Tamil (January 6)
Starring Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, V3 is directed by P Amudhavanan. It also stars Paavana Gowda and Esther Anil in supporting roles. The story revolves around the investigation of gang rape and murder. A social drama, the film is said to be inspired by real-life events. 

Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre- English (January 6)
A spy action comedy, the film is directed by Guy Ritchie and written by Ritchie, Ivan Atkinson, and Marn Davies. The action thriller follows a spy Orson Fortune and his team of operatives who recruit one of Hollywood’s top stars to stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology that threatens to disrupt the world order. 

Prathyardhi- Telugu (January 6)
Directed by Shankar Mudavath, Prathyardhi stars Rohith Behal, Neelima, and Tahgubothu Ramesh amongst others. A crime thriller, Prathyardhi will be about the mysterious case of a missing person. The police consider it to be a case of murder and arrest the suspects. However, things take an unexpected turn when an unexpected rival comes out with revelations. 

Iru- Malayalam (January 6)
A romantic drama, Iru is directed by Sooraj S Kurup and stars Renji Panicker, Dain Davis, and Rajeev Rajan. It revolves around the love life of Rahul and Priya whose marriage is not accepted by the latter’s father due to caste differences. 

Miss Nandini- Kannada (January 6)
Directed by Gurudutta SR, the film stars Priyanka Upendra, KS Sridhar, and Bala Rajwadi in prominent roles. The drama is about teacher Nandini who gets transferred to a Government school, one that has been in bad condition because of the neglect of the management. How she transforms the school forms the crux of the movie.
