Rajinikanth condoles Mayilsamy's demise: I will fulfil his last wish

We recently reported that veteran comedian Mayilsamy passed away on Sunday. A day after his demise, Superstar Rajinikanth visited the former's residence to pay last respect. Addressing the media, Rajinikanth said he had known Mayilsamy when he started as a mimicry artist. He then made his way into the film industry as a comedian. "He was a long-time friend of mine. He was a fan of MGR and a Shiva devotee. We used to meet often, and even if I asked something about the film industry, he will only speak about MGR and lord Shiva. Even though we were close friends, we could not do many films together, and I still don't know why so."

Rajini stated that Mayilsamy used to call him whenever he visited Thiruvanamalai for Karthikai Deepam. Rajini also regretted not being able to speak to him the last time he called as he was held up shooting for a film.  "I wanted to say sorry for not attending his call but I forgot. Now he is no more. The demise of veteran comedians Mayilsamy and Vivek is not only a loss for the cinema industry but for society overall. Both of them were thinkers and socially responsible individuals," he added. When a media person informed Rajini about Mayilsamy's conversation with Drums Sivamani a day before his death that he wished for the actor to do Pal Abhishekam at the Shiva shrine, Rajini noted that he will definitely fulfil the deceased last wish.
