First looks of Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo from Wicked out 

We had earlier reported that the big-screen adaptation of musical Wicked is in works, starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. The makers have now released the first looks on social media.

While Cynthia is shown wearing a witch hat and having a broom, Ariana is in a pink gown, climbing stairs Helmed by filmmaker Jon M Chu, the film will feature Ariana as Glinda and Cynthia as Elphaba. The original Wicked premiered in 2003 with Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth playing the lead roles.

Jeff Goldburn will be essaying the role of the Wizard in Wicked, and others part of the cast include Jonathan Bailey, Michelle Yeoh, Bowen Yang, Adam James, Keala Settle and Bronwyn James.

The upcoming film will be made in two parts, with the first installment to be released on November 27, 2024. Stephen Schwartz, who wrote the music for the Broadway musical, will be working on the upcoming project as well and will write the screenplay along with Winnie Holzman. The second part will release on December 25, 2025.
