Directors Vasanthabalan, Chimbudevan, and Arivazhagan, who had earlier worked as assistant directors for Shankar are reportedly helping their former mentor to direct Indian 2.  Shankar had earlier announced that apart from working on Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2, he would also be directing Ram Charan’s upcoming film.

The Ram Charan film, which is tentatively titled RC15, is reported to be a Tamil-Telugu bilingual, which also happens to be Shankar’s first film in Telugu. The director has apparently planned to direct both Indian 2 and RC15 simultaneously, since the director would have to shuttle between two different locations for the shoot, he has roped in his former associates to help him finish the project.

Indian 2, which started production in 2019, faced a number of hurdles including COVID restrictions and the devastating accident on-set which claimed a life. After a long hiatus, it was recently announced that the film will resume production for a final schedule.

Both RC15 and Indian 2 are confirmed as political dramas with commercial action elements. The story for RC15 is reportedly written by director Karthik Subburaj. The makers of both the films are yet to confirm a release date.
