Ponniyin Selvan 1 makers unveil new poster featuring Prakash Raj, Rahman and Jayachitra

The Mani Ratnam directorial is set to hit screens worldwide on September 30

With the release date closing in, the makers of Ponniyin Selvan have been sharing posters of all major characters. Earlier in the day, a new poster featuring Prakash Raj, Rahman and Jayachitra got released. Prakash Raj plays Sundara Chozhar, and Jayachitra essays a character named Sembiyan Maadevi. Rahman plays the role of Madhurantakan.

Directed by Mani Ratnam, the upcoming period film also stars Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, and R Parthiban.

The film, based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel, is adapted by Mani Ratnam, along with Elango Kumaravel and B Jeyamohan. It is produced jointly by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions. The first part Ponniyin Selvan-1 is set to hit screens worldwide on September 30 in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi languages. Ahead of the film's release, the makers are planning to release the audio and trailer on September 6.
