Vikram success meet: Udhaynidhi Stalin and distributors reveal real box office numbers of Kamal Haasan's film

In the Indian film industry, the box office numbers are quite unreliable. With no authentic sources for such data, the box office numbers are often hearsay. However, at the success meet of Kamal Haasan's Vikram, which happened at Madras Race Club, Guindy, the box office collection was revealed by the distributors themselves - or given the venue should I say horses' mouths.

The event was more or less a thank you gesture from Kamal and the team to the distributors and media personnel for the support of the film. Distributors like Kothanda Raman were given the stage to talk about the success of the film. KR said, "No one should now say Kamal Haasan films are only classy and not for all audiences. He has proved that if he gets down to the business there's no stopping him."

Sanjay of AP International, which distributed the film in the foreign regions, said "Vikram has broken every single record across countries.   I will be glad to inform you that the overseas collection of the film will touch Rs 100 crore by Monday." Following him, Vivek of Hamisini International, who distributed the film in the UK, Australia, Europe, Cannada, and New Zealand, said, "Vikram has done the best collection across all the countries so far. The reason for the success is that we got the content of all language versions of the film on time."

Vikram is having its dream run in Kerala, where the film has broken all the box office records. Shibu Thameens, who distributed the film in Kerala, revealed that the film has so far collected Rs 35 crore in the state, which is a record number for any film in the state. Other distributors from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Malaysia also echoed that the film is having a phenomenal run and has given a fresh lease of life to Tamil cinema, which took a hit after the pandemic.

Udhayanidhi Stalin of Red Giant Movies said, "I was the first one to watch the movie even before its release. After the interval block, I was mind-blown because Tamil cinema has never seen such an interval block. After the film, I was sure it will be a hit. However, to be honest, I never expected it to become such a big hit. Anirudh was telling me that for the next film instead of getting remuneration, I should get an area's distribution rights. As far as the collection goes, the share of Red Giant movies in Tamil Nadu alone has crossed Rs 75 crore. No film holds such record."

It is estimated that Vikram will continue to rake in money in the coming weeks. It is speculated that the film has already crossed the Rs 300 crore mark in terms of collection.
