AR Rahman hosts grand wedding reception for daughter Khatija Rahman; CM Stalin, Mani Ratnam, Manisha Koirala in attendance

Oscar award-winning Music Composer AR Rahman threw a grand wedding reception in Chennai for his daughter Khatija Rahman who got married to Sound Engineer Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed on May 5, 2022.

The star-studded evening saw Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, filmmakers Mani Ratnam, Shekhar Kapur and Sandeep Singh; Actor Manisha Koirala; Singers Sonu Nigam, Udit Narayan, Javed Ali, Abdu Rozik and Honey Singh in attendance. Musicians Sivamani and Jatin Pandit also graced the occasion. Several other industry friends and colleagues blessed the couple.

Actor Rahman's daughter and Khatija's sister Rushda Rahman wished the couple love and happiness and said, "So so happy for you my sister and Riyaz! You are the luckiest man to have the most beautiful person as your wife. To happiness, love and peace."

Sharing a picture with the couple on Instagram, Actor Manisha Koirala said, "AR Rahman sir's daughter Khatija's wedding reception was a sheer joy. Meeting my colleagues from here really warmed my heart. This celebration has added more to already many lovely memories of Chennai. God bless the newlywed." 

Honey Singh wrote on Instagram, “Best wishes to the blessed couple and congratulations to the whole AR RAHMAN sir’s families and fans!! @arrameen @arrahman.”

For the evening, Khatija wore a purple lehenga with matching accessories and Riyasdeen was seen all decked up in a black suit.

On the work front, Khatija has sung in Kaayam for Actor-Director Parthiban's upcoming film Iravin Nizhal which is world's first non-linear single-shot movie.
