Karthi's Viruman release date announced

It has been announced that the Karthi-starrer Viruman will be hitting screens worldwide on Augus 12. Ahead of the release, the makers are planning a grand audio launch in Madurai, where the film is set. 2D Entertainment, headed by Jyotika and Suriya, is producing the film.

Directed by Muthaiya, Viruman is billed as a rural-based mass entertainer. Director Shankar's daughter Aditi is making her acting debut with this film. Others in the cast include Prakash Raj, Raj Kiran, Soori,  Saranya Ponvannan, RK Suresh, Manoj and Vadivukkarasi. Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing for the music while cinematography is by SK Selvakumar.

Karthi, whose last release was Sulthan, also has Ponniyin Selvan and Sardar lined up.
