In a series of poster revelation by the makers of Ponniyin Selvan (PS-1), the character look of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Nandini, the Queen of Pazhuvoor, was released on social media, on Wednesday.

Ponniyin Selvan, helmed by Mani Ratnam, is set to be released in two installments, with the first part to hit the big screens on September 30. The film will release in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. In the past couple of days, the looks of actors Vikram and Karthi from the film were released.

Adorned in silk drapes and antique jewels, Aishwarya glances sideways, with a composed look. It is to be noted that the actor, who made her acting debut with Iruvar (1997), which is also helmed by Mani Ratnam, has collaborated multiple times with the filmmaker. Mani Ratnam has earlier directed Aishwarya in Raavan, and Guru.

Billed to be one of the biggest multi-starrers in Indian cinema, the historical drama features Vikram, Karthi,  Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, and Jayam Ravi in the leads. The ensemble includes Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Lal, Sarath Kumar, Arjun Chidambaram, and Ashwin Kakamanu.

Backed by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, the duology will have music by AR Rahman, and a screenplay by Mani Ratnam, Jeyamohan, and Kumaravel. With cinematography by Ravi Varman, Ponniyin Selvan has production design by Thota Tharani and editing by Sreekar Prasad.
