First single from Dhanush's Maaran to release this week

Dhanush's upcoming film Maaran, directed by Karthick Naren, will have its first track released this week. Titled 'Polladha Ulagam', the makers announced that this song will be out on January 26. 

'Polladha Ulagam' will be crooned by the actor himself with the rap portions done by Arivu of 'Enjoy Enjaami' fame. Lyricist Vivek, who has previously written songs for Dhanush's film like Kodi, Vada Chennai, Pattas and Jagame Thandhiram, has penned 'Polladha Ulagam'. Interestingly, Dhanush earlier had lent his voice for a track called 'Polladha Bhoomi' in his 2019 film Asuran. 

Also starring Malavika Mohanan, with Samuthirakani, Smruthi Venkat, Krishnakumar Balasubramanian and Mahendran in supporting roles, Maaran has GV Prakash composing the music. Produced by TG Thyagarajan, Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan of Sathya Jyothi Films, the film is scheduled for a digital premiere through Disney+ Hotstar in February this year.
