From Mohanlal to Kamal Haasan, celebrities wish Rajinikanth on his birthday

Rajinikanth will be next seen in Jailer

Actor Rajinikanth, who is fondly known as Thalaivar, turned 72 on Monday. The veteran actor, who is currently shooting for Jailer, was wished by celebrities across industries.

Multi-faceted Kamal Haasan who has worked with Rajinikanth during their initial days and close friend of the actor took to Twitter to wish him a happy birthday. “Happy birthday to my dear friend Superstar Rajinikanth. Wish you on this auspicious day to continue your journey of success,” he wrote. Calling Rajinikanth a dear friend, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin conveyed his wishes and wished him good health and prosperity.

Malayalam actor Mammootty who co-starred with Rajinikanth in classic film Thalapathy, shared a still of them from the film and wrote, “Happy Birthday Dear Rajinikanth have a great year ahead. Stay Happy , Healthy & Blessed always.” Another Malayalam superstar, Mohanlal, called Rajinikanth “an emotion of the nation”, while wishing him good health, happiness and peace of mind.

Khushboo, who has acted with Rajinikanth in Annaatthe, Mannan, Annamalai, posted a photo of herself along with the actor and wrote, “Wishing the greatest #SuperStar of Indian cinema, the man whose actions speak louder than words, a hero who defined the actual meaning of heroism, a trendsetter, above all a man of principle & dignity Rajinikanth sir a very happy birthday!”

Actor Dhanush, who has always expressed himself as Rajinikanth’s fan, wished him, “Happy birthday THALAIVA.”

While it may be noted that the actor was last seen in Annaatthe, his 2002 cult classic Baba was re-released recently. As scores of Rajinikanth’s fans thronged to the theatres, to watch a film that was also written and produced by the star, they are also awaiting the release of a glimpse of the actor from his upcoming film Jailer, on Monday evening.

While it may be noted that the actor was last seen in Annaatthe, his 2002 cult classic Baba was re-released recently. As scores of Rajinikanth’s fans thronged to the theatres, to watch a film that was also written and produced by the star, they are also awaiting the release of a glimpse of the actor from his upcoming film Jailer, on Monday evening.
