Reports suggest that actor Vikram and director Ajay Gnanamuthu will work together again after Cobra. The combo first worked together on the upcoming action-thriller Cobra, which is all set to release on 31 August. The film, produced by Seven Screen Studio, will have music scored by A R Rahman while Indian Cricketer Irfan Pathan will also be seen playing a crucial role, marking his film debut.

The actor-director combo confirmed the news about their next project on Twitter Space while promoting their upcoming film Cobra. Responding to further questions about this untitled project, the actor said that the new project has a unique and compelling story and that he is excited to work on it. Reports emerging from the sets of Cobra hint at the remarkable working chemistry between the actor and the filmmaker.

Vikram is also gearing up to release his historical epic drama Ponniyin Selvan , directed by Mani Ratnam. The actor will be seen playing the legendary Tamil king from the Cholan dynasty: Aditya Karikalan.

The actor also recently commenced production on his other upcoming project, tentatively titled Chiyaan 61, with director Pa Ranjith and Studio Green’s Gnanavel Raja.  The Vikram-Ajay Gnanmuthu project is expected to hit the floors soon after the actor wraps up work on Chiyaan61.
