Suresh Kamatchi, the producer of Maanaadu, in a tweet, announced that his film will not be released tomorrow due to unavoidable reasons. "We created this work with a lot of dreams. I was eagerly awaiting the release of the film. With great pain, I inform you that the film has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. The new release date will be announced later. I apologise for all the inconvenience," wrote the producer.

The announcement saddened Simbu's fans, who expressed their shock on social media. However, within a few hours, it was confirmed that Silambarasan's film will be released as planned on November 25. Venkat Prabhu, the director of the film, shared a poster of the film that confirmed the release of the film tomorrow (25 November).

It is said that the stakeholders had a meeting and have decided to go ahead with the film's release. The reason behind the last-minute confusion is unknown.

The film was postponed multiple times earlier. The film was scheduled to release on Deepavali. However, it was then postponed to release on November 25.

Directed by Venkat Prabhu, Maanaadu is touted as a sci-fi thriller based on time-reversal and loop. Co-starring SJ Suryah, Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead roles, the film also has Premgi Amaren, Bharathiraja and SA Chandrasekaran.

The film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Richard M Nathan.
