Arya joins hands with Shakti Soundar Rajan for Captain

Arya and director Shakti Soundar Rajan are teaming up once again after their fantasy thriller Teddy. The new film has been titled Captain and it is bankrolled by Arya himself, under his banner The Show People, along with Think Studios.

The shooting of the film recently commenced in Chennai and is proceeding at a brisk pace. Shakti shares that he chose an English title to ensure that his film reaches the international audience when it hits OTT platforms. "OTTs have permanently bridged the gap between countries, boundaries, and linguistic barriers. Film titles play an important role in appealing to the interest of universal audiences. So we opted for this title to get a larger audience."

The film has Simran and Aishwarya Lakshmi playing the female leads and the supporting cast comprises actors like Thyagarajan, Kavya Shetty, Harish Uthaman, Gokul and Bharath Raj.

The first leg of the shooting will be completed soon, and the crew will be leaving for North India by mid-December for the second schedule.
