Dhanush: Rocky is an absolute gem

We had earlier reported that Arun Matheswaran's debut directorial, Rocky, is set to hit the screens on December 23. Sharing the news on social media, actor Dhanush, who got to see a special screening of the film, heaped praise on Rocky. 

In a tweet, Dhanush said, "This film is an absolute GEM!! Watch out for some very strong performances. Especially from my beloved Bharathiraja sir. Best of luck to the entire team. Especially, the very talented Arun Matheswaran. God bless."

Presented by Vignesh Shivan, the film stars Vasanth Ravi, Bharathiraaja, Raveena Ravi, and Rohini. With music by Darbuka Siva, the film's cinematography is handled by Shreyaas Krishna. 

Even before the release of his first film, Arun Matheswaran, who worked as an assistant director to Thiagarajan Kumararaja and was the dialogue writer of Sudha Kongara's Irudhi Suttru, has completed the filming of his sophomore project, Saani Kaayidham. The project, which stars Selvaraghavan and Keerthy Suresh in the lead roles, is said to be based on a true story that happened during the 1980s. 

Incidentally, there were speculations about Arun's third film to be with Dhanush, and this recent tweet from the Maaran actor has further fuelled it. 

On the acting front, Dhanush has Atrangi Re lined up for a Christmas release. He also has Maaran, Thiruchitrambalam, The Gray Man and Naane Varuven in different stages of production.
