Vijay Sethupathi's Laabam to hit screens on September 9
Directed by the late SP Jhananathan, the film stars Shruti Haasan and Jagapathi Babu in prominent roles

Vijay Sethupathi's Laabam is one of the first major Tamil films to lock its release date after the second wave of Covid-19. Vijay Sethupathi took to Twitter to announce that the film is set to hit screens on September 9, while sharing a new poster. Directed by the late SP Jhananathan, the film stars Shruti Haasan and Jagapathi Babu in prominent roles.

The film, which has the tagline 'day light robbery', has music by D Imman and cinematography by Ramji. Laabam, which marks the second collaboration with Jhananathan and Vijay Sethupathi after the 2015 release Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai, also features Sai Dhanshika, Kalaiyarasan, Ramesh Thilak, and Prithivi Rajan in supporting roles.
The film is a co-production between Vijay Sethupathi Productions and 7C's Entertainment Pvt Ltd.
