Amitabh Bachchan buys 50 oxygen concentrators from Poland for Covid-19 relief

Amitabh Bachchan has bought 50 oxygen concentrators from Poland for Covid-19 relief in India. In a new blog post, he revealed that the concentrators will be shipped out on May 15. He added that he has ordered about 60 concentrators from another source which should be coming in a few days.

Wishing everyone on Eid-ul-Fitar, Big B on Thursday wrote that there were urgent calls for concentrators from many places. After facing difficulty procuring them, he was helped by a friend and the Indian Consul in Wroclaw, Poland. They provided him the details of a Polish company that is exporting O2 concentrators worldwide.

“I immediately placed an order for 50 oxygen concentrators. They shall be shipped out on the 15th of May. My gratitude that I have mentioned above is to all, in getting LOT Polish Airlines, that is delivering the equipment, to waive the freight charges as a gesture of helping us in our hour of need.”

He added that the ones he has bought are of 5 litre capacity. “I shall be buying another 50, hopefully, of the 10 litre ones and donate them to a hospital with proper medical care.”

Additionally, Big B has ordered 20 ventilators for the BMC. Ten of these have now arrived. “I am happy that I was able to deliver them to the BMC and a few Municipal hospitals in Mumbai today. The balance 10 should be in by the 25th and they shall also be distributed to some more hospitals in need of them.”
