The Birth 10000BC, an experimental film by debutant director Vikram (a doctor by profession), garnered attention with its title and trailer. It is now the second most trending film on IMDB. The action-adventure set in the pre-historic period is being made in multiple languages, and could get a Spanish release as well.

“We have plans to release The Birth 10000BC in five languages, including Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and English. A Spanish filmmaker, who has watched the trailer, has also approached us to have the film dubbed and released in their language. We are in the discussion stage,” says the director.

A more or less ‘no-language’ film, it begins in the current period and moves to the prehistoric era. Almost 90 per cent of the film is told through the lead actor Pratap Raana. Another highlight of the film is its background score which aids the emotions, says Vikram. “Though the film is experimental, it has all the qualities of a commercial outing.”

The Birth 10000BC is bankrolled by Pradeep Jain under the banner of Sri Vinayaka Maruthi Creations and Lakshya Production. The music is scored by Judah Sandhy, and National award-winner Mahavir Sabanannavar has handled the sound design. The film has cinematography by Anand Sundaresha.

The team is currently working on the post-production, with an aim to release the film in June. However, this depends on the pandemic. The makers are also looking at an OTT release and are in talks with various streaming platforms.
