Amitabh Bachchan to receive FIAF Award from Martin Scorsese and Christopher Nolan

The International Federation of Film Archives will be honouring Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan for his contribution to film preservation. Christopher Nolan and Martin Scorsese will be presenting the award to the actor. 

The FIAF is a yearly honour given to personalities for their contribution to the preservation of films and their heritage.

Talking about the honour, Amitabh Bachchan is quoted as saying that he is hugely committed to the cause of film preservation. 

Meanwhile, Martin Scorsese and Christopher Nolan heaped praise on Amitabh. Scorsese said, "They could not have chosen a more deserving individual to recognise this year." The Tenet director, on the other hand, said, "He (Amitabh) has played an essential role in putting the cause of film preservation on the map in India and the subcontinent."

Amitabh Bachchan, who was last seen in Shoojit Sircar's Gulabo Sitabo, will next be seen in Emraan Hashmi's Chehre, Ranbir Kapoor's Brahmastra, and Ajay Devgn's Mayday.
