Karthik Subbaraj: Jagame Thandhiram's Bujji and Nethu video songs excluded from OTT cut

Director Karthik Subbaraj has said that two or three of the eight songs from Jagame Thandhiram's album will not feature in the OTT cut of the film.

The music album of the upcoming Netflix film was released earlier today, and to commemorate the same, Dhanush, Karthik, and music composer Santhosh Narayanan participated in a Twitter Spaces session.

While speaking about the songs in the film, Karthik revealed that out of the eight songs, two or three songs might not make it to the Netflix version. "Those songs were made considering the theatrical formula. But OTTs don't have interval blocks, and so to suit the OTT format, we had to remove those songs from the cut," he said. In an interview with us, Karthik revealed that Bujji and Nethu won't make it to the final cut.

All is not lost for fans as Karthik also added that a complete version of the film, with the songs, will be released in the TV version. "I think when the film streams on television after a few months, we might get to see those songs in the film.," he said

Produced by Sashikanth, under his banner Y Not Studios, Jagame Thandhiram also stars Aishwarya Lekshmi, Kalaiyarasan, Sanchana Natarajan and James Cosmo. The film will premiere on Netflix on June 18.
