Veteran filmmaker Richard Donner has died at the age of 91. The news was confirmed by his wife and producer Lauren Shuler Donner.
Donner began his career as a director with the 1976's The Omen, the hit horror film was followed up by 1978’s Superman. He tackled a variety of genres like adventure thrillers, comedies and buddy cop and made films like The Goonies, Scrooged and Lethal Weapon.
The director had been planning to return to the Lethal Weapon franchise and said in 2020 that a fifth film in the series would be the last film he directs. Unfortunately, he never got the chance.
