Software entrepreneur-turned-actor Ravi Reddy on his journey in showbiz
Driven by a passion for cinema

Ravi Reddy has managed to make an impact in the Telugu film industry with his latest release V. "I played Prasad, a cop, who gets killed by Nani in the film. Although it was a small appearance, the character has created an impression on the audience. People started identifying me with the character and I'm feeling grateful to my director, Indraganti Mohan Krishna for the opportunity," begins Ravi.

A software engineer by profession, Ravi, who hails from Karimnagar, holds a degree in acting from the New York Film Academy. "I was a fitness model and worked for several magazines in the USA. It was then that I consciously took the decision to become an actor and enrolled myself in the New York Film Academy," says Ravi, adding, "I moved to India in 2017 and worked in 14 movies of which 11 featured me as a cop (smiles)."

Ravi says that the success of his character in V has given him the confidence to do more challenging roles. "I think that Prasad has laid a new path for me as far as acting goes. In fact, I have no apprehensions doing negative roles and I like to see myself as an antagonist. I think such characters always stand out owing to the scope they offer for performance. Also, I am always driven by a passion for cinema and I would like people to remember me as a good artiste," says Ravi.

Up next, he will be seen donning the khaki again in Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi's upcoming period political love story, Virata Parvam. "I play Karimnagar Additional Superintendent of Police in the film and I am hoping the audience like my character," signs off Ravi.
