Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Karan Deol to star in Anil Sharma's Apne 2
The makers will be shooting from March next year, in Punjab and Europe, and the sports drama is expected to be a Diwali 2021 release
Director Anil Sharma and producer Deepak Mukut are coming up with the sequel to the superhit film, Apne. While the first film, released in 2007, had two generations of the Deol family — Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, and Bobby Deol — in the lead roles, the sequel will feature three generations of the family. Karan Deol, Sunny's son, who recently made his acting debut in his father's directorial venture, Pal Pal Dil ke Paas, will star in the sequel, Apne 2.
The second instalment of the film has been in the works for some time and now, the entire script is in place.
The makers will be shooting from March next year, in Punjab and Europe, and the sports drama is expected to be a Diwali 2021 release.
Legendary actor Dharmendra shares, "Apne is one of the best films of my life. A joint effort by the whole unit, received very well by you all. Now, I'm very happy because I will get to shoot Apne 2 with my sons Sunny, Bobby, and my grandson Karan. It will be a very special film and I am looking forward to shoot."
Announcing the same, Sunny Deol, on the festive occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, tweeted, "Babaji ke aashirwaad aur aapke pyaar ki wajah se aaj hum vapas ek sath nazar aayenge. Feeling blessed to get a chance to work with my father, brother again this time with my son. Apne 2, in cinemas Diwali 2021."
