'Victory of democracy': Kangana Ranaut rejoices as Bombay HC quashes demolition order

Kangana Ranaut has reacted to the Bombay High Court quashing the demolition order against her property by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Back in September, the BMC had demolished a part of Kangana’s Mumbai office on Pali Hill over claims of illegal construction. The order, according to a bench of the Bombay HC, was ‘actuated by legal malice’ and ‘smacks of malafide’. As such, the bench has ruled to quash the demolition move and ordered a valuer to oversee appropriate compensations. At the same time, it has asked Kangana to exercise restraint on social media platforms. “Irresponsible statements made by citizen are best ignored,” the bench was quoted as stating.

Kangana, who is presently shooting for her upcoming film Thalaivi, shared a video on Instagram and wrote, “When individual stands against the government and wins, it’s not the victory of the individual but it’s the victory of the democracy. Thank you everyone who gave me courage and thanks to those who laughed at my broken dreams. It's only cause you play a villain, I can be a hero.”
