Gautham Karthik and Parthiban team up for Ezhil's next

We reported last year that director Ezhil, known for films like Thullatha Manamum Thullum and Poovellam Un Vaasam, would be teaming up with Parthiban for his next. It is now known that this film will also star Gautham Karthik. The untitled project is based on a book by Rajesh Kumar. 

While Ezhil has been primarily working on comedy entertainers like Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran in recent times, the upcoming film will be a thriller. Gautham will be playing a private detective, while Parthiban will be seen as a cop. Imman composes the music for this film, which will have debutante Saipriya as the female lead. The film, which went on floors on Saturday, will be shot in places like Ooty and Pondicherry. 

Meanwhile, Ezhil also has the Vishnu Vishal and Nivetha Pethuraj-starrer Jagajala Killadi, and the fantasy horror film Aayiram Jenmangal, starring GV Prakash, in the pipeline. 

Gautham has the Tamil remake of the Kannada hit film Mufti, Mani Ratnam’s Navarasa, and Badri Venkatesh's next in various stages of production.
