Abhimanyu Dassani, Shilpa Shetty and team wrap up Nikamma
Directed by Sabbir Khan, the action comedy is expected to be out next year
Abhimanyu Dassani, Shilpa Shetty, and Shirley Setia have completed shooting for Nikamma. Directed by Sabbir Khan, the action-comedy had gone on floors in 2019. The film’s shoot was halted earlier this year due to the COVID-19. It is now expected to be released in 2021.
Nikamma is jointly produced by Sony Pictures International Productions and Sabbir Khan Films.
Abhimanyu Dassani made his Bollywood debut with Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota (2018). Shilpa Shetty’s last major appearance was in Apne (2007). She is making her comeback after 13 years with Nikamma.
Speaking about his prep for Nikamma, Abhimanyu had shared, "There is a lot of action in Nikamma. Sabbir sir and I both were keen that I do all the action and stunts myself. We decided that I should learn capoeira before starting the shoot. We traveled to Turkey specially to learn this fight form and it was an amazing experience. I trained with the armed forces there, which was extremely engaging because it wasn't just fancy film fighting, but more real-life protection and takedowns."
