Rishab Shetty to portray underworld don Amar Alva

The lockdown seems to have worked in favour of Rishab Shetty, who has used this time to chalk out both his acting and directing career. Even as the director in Rishab is gearing up to kickstart shooting for Rudraprayag, the actor in him is set to portray underworld don Amar Alva in an upcoming film. According to sources, this untitled film, set during the 1980-90s, will be written by Rishab and his associate Nitesh, who is making his directorial debut with the movie.

Amar Alva was known for his charming yet daring personality in the Mangaluru underworld. His name was mostly heard in the mafia circle along with the likes of  Muthappa Rai, MP Jayaraj and Oil Kumar. Amar Alva was shot dead in the year 1992.

Rishab, whose directorial ventures like Kirik Party, Ricky, Sarkari Hi. Pra. Shaale, Kasaragodu carried his unique versatile touch, has struck gold with his acting roles too. His journey as a lead hero began strongly with the Jayathirtha directorial, Bell Bottom. The film had a successful run at the box office and is also being remade in multiple languages.

Rishab, who will also be seen in the comedy drama Harikathe alla Giri Kathe, directed by Giri Krishna, faces a fresh challenge with the Amar Alva project. The film on Amar Alva raises curiosity about how Rishab will handle a subject, which needs him to flaunt machetes and guns.

While the production details of the project are yet to be revealed, the film will go on floors in 2021, only after Rishab completes his current commitments with Rudraprayag, Harikathe alla Giri kathe and Bell Bottom 2.
