The Cinematography Minister met the members of Telugu Film Producers Council (TFPC) today to discuss the coronavirus pandemic's impact on the film industry during the lockdown
Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav met the members of Telugu Film Producers Council (TFPC) today to discuss the coronavirus pandemic's impact on the film industry during the lockdown. The Minister stated that the Telangana government will soon come up with the best policy to support the growth of the Telugu film industry.
"The television and film industries are facing huge losses due to the lockdown. Issues related to the film industry were appraised to the Chief Minister and I vow to you that the government will certainly come up with a policy to boost the growth of the industry and its workers, who are directly or indirectly affected by the outbreak. We will also convene a meeting with the Andhra Pradesh government before coming out with a policy," said Talasani.
The minister is optimistic about the end of the crisis and stated that film and television shootings would likely be resumed soon. "These are the worst of times and yet, there is hope. Come June, I think the shootings will resume in full capacity. However, we will take a final decision after solemnly assessing the situation with the governments of the Telugu States," he added.
Talasani reiterated that the government will meet the senior artists and technicians of Telugu cinema to discuss a slew of welfare measures to develop the industry soon. "We sat down with the industry representatives and thrashed out the finer details on several problems faced by the film industry before the lockdown. The government is committed to developing the Telugu film industry in Hyderabad and we will announce our new policy soon after the lockdown is lifted," said the minister.
