This is what Kamal had to say about resuming Marudhanayagam in InstaLive with Vijay Sethupathi

Kamal Haasan today participated in an Insta Live session hosted by Vijay Sethupathi, along with VJ Abhishek Raaja. The session titled Thalaivan Irukindraan saw the actor talk about a variety of issues like politics, art, cinema, and nostalgia.

To a particular question asked by Abhishek about the possibility of resuming the actor's dream project, Marudhanayagam, Kamal said that the whole character and the connected script has to be reworked for that to happen. "The happenings in the script have the be changed needs to be reworked, as it was originally written for a 40-year-old protagonist. Either I have to change the time frame and reimagine the proceedings, or I have to find another suitable actor to play the role," he said.

Kamal also added that he has recently written a ballad of sorts on the mythological character Kansa/Kamsa, titled Chinna Kansa. Kansa, often described as a rakshasa, is the brother of Devaki, the mother of the god Krishna in Hindu Mythology. Krishna later slew Kansa, as per the myth.

Kamal had been shooting for Shankar's Indian 2, before the corona outbreak brought the industry to a standstill.
