Karan Johar speaks about Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo in Alia Bhatt - Ranbir Kapoor starrer, Brahmastra

It's been more than a year since we last saw Shah Rukh Khan on the big screen. His last film, Zero, didn't do well at the box-office, prompting the actor to shelve his Rakesh Sharma biopic. Meanwhile, last year, the Raees actor shot for a cameo in Karan Johar's Brahmastra, starring Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.

Speaking of Shah Rukh's role, Karan Johar recently said that he didn't want to reveal anything about SRK's character but he, along with Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Ayan Mukerji, are extremely grateful for him coming on board and sharing his visions and inputs. He pointed out that the energy that SRK brings with him to the sets is unparalleled.

Karan Johar also revealed that they will announce the release date of Part 1 of Brahmastra soon. He added that Ayan Mukerji has the structure of both parts ready, with the writing firmly in place. Calling the film Ayan's brainchild, Karan also revealed that the Wakeup Sid-filmmaker has been working on it, every single day, for the last five years.

Shah Rukh has previously worked with Ranbir Kapoor in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which was helmed by Karan Johar. The superstar had a cameo as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's ex-husband.

Meanwhile, Alia and SRK worked together in Gauri Shinde's Dear Zindagi.
