Three years after Khaidi No. 150 (2017), actor Chiranjeevi and director VV Vinayak will team up again for Chiru 153, which is set to go on floors this August.

While speculations were rife that the film would be a remake of Malayalam thriller Lucifer, we have learnt that it's going to be an original story written by Prasanna Kumar Bezawada. "When Chiranjeevi suggested him to direct Lucifer, Vinayak politely turned down the offer. With great difficulty, he convinced Chiru to go ahead with Prasanna Kumar's story. The film will commence the principal photography in the third week of August soon after the release of Acharya on August 14," says a source.

The untitled film will be produced by Ram Charan under Konidela Productions banner and the project marks his fourth collaboration with his father after Khaidi No.150, Syeraa Narasimha Reddy and Acharya.

Meanwhile, the shooting of Acharya is progressing at a rapid pace in Ramoji Film City. Directed by Koratala Siva, the film has Mahesh Babu in a crucial cameo.
