Legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam has tested negative for COVID-19, said a statement from a PR person. 

The singer got admitted to a Chennai hospital on August 5 after testing positive for COVID-19. After a few days, his health deteriorated and was put on life support.

The PR statement released today, that claimed to be from SPB's son and singer-filmmaker SPB Charan, read, "Thanks for your continuous support. My father is still on life support, on ventilator, but is currently stable. His coronavirus test has however become negative... Will keep you posted about the updates."

The singer was put on life support on August 14, after his condition worsened after a bout of pneumonia.
