Who's directing Ajith Kumar in Thala 61?

According to sources, Ajith has been listening to scripts from four young directors

It is already known that the core team of Nerkonda Paarvai — actor Ajith Kumar, director H Vinoth, and producer Boney Kapoor — are doing one more film, which is being referred to as Thala 60. With the shooting currently underway, speculations about Ajith's next project after Thala 60, tentatively titled Thala 61, have started making the rounds.

According to sources, Ajith has been listening to scripts from four young directors, who have not shied from experimenting in their films. Pushkar Gayatri (Vikram Vedha), Magizh Thirumeni (Meeghamann and Thadam), Karthik Naren (Dhruvangal Pathinaaru) and Ashwin Saravanan (Maaya and Game Over) have reportedly met the actor for a narration recently.

It remains to be seen if Ajith would work with one of these directors for his 61st film.

Meanwhile, Boney Kapoor had revealed that Thala 60, a big-budget action entertainer, will capitalise on Ajith's racing interests. The project was pitched to AR Rahman, who could not take it up due to prior commitments. If reports are to believed, Yuvan Shankar Raja, who was part of the team's earlier collaboration, Nerkonda Paarvai, might be roped in for this film too.

An official confirmation about the rest of the cast and crew of Thala 60 is expected soon
