Veteran actor Rekha and the late Sridevi will be conferred the Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) National Award for the years 2019 and 2018, announced actor Nagarjuna in the presence of industrialist T Subbarami Reddy at an event held in Hyderabad today.

Instituted by the Akkineni International Foundation to honour ANR, the awards will be presented on November 17 at Annapurna Studios in the presence of actor Chiranjeevi and other Telugu cinema dignitaries.

Sridevi, who passed away last year, will be posthumously honoured with the prestigious award for making a lasting impact of outstanding artistic, cultural and commercial significance to the field of cinema. Her husband, Boney Kapoor will receive the award for her.

Students passing out of the Annapurna College of Film and Media (ACFM) will also get their degrees on the day of the award function.

Earlier, recipients of the ANR National award include Dev Anand (2005), Shabana Azmi (2006), Anjali Devi (2007), Vyjayantimala Bali (2008), Lata Mangeshkar (2009), K Balachander (2010), Hemamalini (2011), Shyam Benegal (2012), Amitabh Bachchan (2014), and SS Rajamouli (2017).
