A source close to the film's unit reveals that the actor will be playing the principal antagonist, who will be pitted against the character played by Arun Vijay
We had earlier reported that director Karthick Naren, who made an impressive debut with his 2016 crime-thriller, Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru, is all set to collaborate with Arun Vijay for a crime thriller. Now, it's learnt that Prasanna, who is busy promoting his latest web-series Thiravam, has been brought onboard for an important character in the film.
A source close to the film's unit reveals that the actor will be playing the principal antagonist, who will be pitted against the character played by Arun Vijay. Prasanna had earlier played portrayed a ruthless rapist in Mysskin's 2008 crime thriller, Anjathe.
Also, as speculated earlier, Nivetha Pethuraj, who was last seen in Vijay Antony's Thimiru Pudichavan, is expected to play the female lead in Karthick Naren's new film.
Karthick is currently awaiting the release of his second film, a drama titled Naragasooran. The film, featuring Arvind Swamy, Shriya Saran, Aathmika, Sundeep Kishan and Indrajith Sukumaran, was scheduled for release last year, but has since been delayed. The filmmaker had also announced a new project, titled Naadaga Medai, which was meant to be his third film. While its status is still unknown, we hear that the one featuring Arun Vijay will be a fresh script.
Meanwhile, Prasanna has Mysskin's Thupparivaalan 2, co-starring Vishal, in the pipeline. The actor is expected to reprise his role as detective Manohar, the associate of Kaniyan Poongundran. He's also expected to make his Malayalam debut this year with Prithviraj's Brother's Day
Arun Vijay, on the other hand, is currently training at the Lienphong Center in Vietnam for his upcoming film, Boxer. Directed by newcomer Vivek, a former associate of Bala, the sports drama also stars Rithika Singh as a sports journalist. Apart from Boxer, Arun Vijay has the action drama, Agni Siragugal, co-starring Vijay Antony, in the pipeline. The film, which marks the third directorial outing for Moodar Koodam fame Naveen, is based on an episode from the anthology TV series, The Twilight Zone.
