Ashok Selvan, who was last seen in the Netflix-only release, Sila Samayangalil, has signed a new film, titled Senorita, to be directed by debutant Swathini, an erstwhile assistant of Gautham Menon. The film is bankrolled by Kenanya films, the production house behind films like Ulkuthu, Oru Naal Koothu, and Vaan (which is currently under production).

Ashok tells us he plays a cinematographer in the film, and adds, "It will be a new-age romcom, something different from the kind that usually gets made in our industry." The actor reveals that Wamiqa Gabbi will play the female lead, and AR Soorya, who has worked in films like Jada and Maaveeran Kittu, will be handling the cinematography, while Justin Prabhakaran is in charge of the music. "The film will go on floors next month in Pune. An official announcement will be made soon."

Meanwhile, Ashok has a number of projects like Oxygen, Nenjamellam Kadhal, Jack, Red Rum, and his Malayalam debut, the Mohanlal-starrer Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham, in the pipeline.
