The official teaser of Amala Paul-starrer Aadai, directed by Rathna Kumar (who had debuted with Meyadha Maan in 2017), was released yesterday. The sensational teaser has been receiving appreciation from all quarters and has been trending nationwide.

Samantha Akkineni, who is awaiting the release of Nandhini Reddy's Oh Baby, had words of praise for Amala Paul, after watching the teaser.

Aishwarya Rajesh, who is currently shooting for Vijay Sethupathy-starrer Ka Pae Ranasingam, wished the team of Aadai all success, while noting that the teaser was super-intense.

Interestingly, both Samantha and Amala Paul took screen-tests for the character of Padma in Vetrimaaran's Vadachennai, before the role ultimately went to Aishwarya Rajesh.

The Aadai teaser, while highlighting the film's context and mood, also features one of the boldest shots yet in Tamil cinema, featuring a nude Amala Paul waking up to trauma.

Aadai, which was shot in live sync sound, has music by Pradeep Kumar’s band Oorka, while Vijay Kartik Kannan of Iravaakaalam-fame has handled the cinematography. The film, directed by Meyaadha Maan-fame Ratna Kumar, has been certified 'A', and is expected to get a release soon.
