New promo of Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja takes a dig at online reviewers
The makers have come up with a tried-and-tested, but still working formula for grabbing the attention of the internet-savvy audience
The clamour of films at the box-office has forced filmmakers to come up with innovative promotional materials to stand out from the clutter. With Sivakarthikeyan's second production, Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja (NNOR), hitting the screens on June 14, the makers have come up with a tried-and-tested, but still working formula for grabbing the attention of the internet-savvy audience.
Actor Chutti Aravind, the mainstay of the YouTube channel, Black Sheep, which is the driving force behind Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja, features in a promo that takes a light-hearted dig at the various online reviewers. Not sparing anyone, Aravind puts up an act where he reviews Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja as various famous online reviewers.
Interestingly, Internet Pasanga, a song from the film features most of these online reviewers. With the brains behind Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja being YouTubers themselves, it is safe to assume that everything said in this promo will be taken in jest, and with a pinch of salt. This is not the first time online reviewers are being spoofed in cinema. Director Venkat Prabhu's Chennai 600028 II too had such scenes where actor Shiva plays an online reviewer.
Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja stars Rio Raj, Kanchwala Shirin, and RJ Vigneshkanth. Directed by Black Sheep-fame Karthik Venugopalan, the film has music by Shabir.
Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan announced his third production venture at the recently concluded press meet of Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja. He will next be collaborating with Aruvi-fame Arun Prabu Purushothaman for a project, which will predominantly feature new faces.
