Ranveer Singh, on his 34th birthday, shared his first look as Kapil Dev from the upcoming film, 83. The actor plays former Team India captain, Kapil Dev, who led India to cricket world cup glory in 1983.

With a bushy moustache and hairdo resembling Kapil's old ones, the actor looks strikingly similar to the former cricketer. Ranveer is seen with a leather ball in his hand and an intense look on his face. The actor took to social media to unveil the first look.

Ranveer is currently in the UK, shooting for the film with Deepika Padukone, who will play the role of the legendary cricketer's wife, Romi Bhatia. 83 shows the journey of Kapil Dev, a boy from Haryana, leading his team to victory in the 1983 Cricket World Cup.

83, directed by Kabir Khan, revolves around India's historic victory, where the team defeated West Indies under the captaincy of Kapil Dev. Former cricketer Balvinder Singh Sandhu trained Ranveer and other team members for the film, which is set for release on April 10, 2020.
