Santhanam trains in Silambam for his next

Known for helming films such as Jeyam Kondaan and Boomerang, R Kannan is teaming up with Santhanam next for a comedy entertainer. The two had earlier worked together in Jayam Kondaan, Kanden Kadhalai, Vandhaan Vendran, and Settai.

Now, we hear that Santhanam will be playing an action hero in the new project, which is said to be a commercial entertainer, set in the village.

Santhanam, reportedly, has started taking silambam lessons from action-choreographer Stunt Silva to prepare for his character in the film. The film, which is expected to go on floors this month, will be shot entirely in Ambasamudram and parts of Tirunelveli. Kannan will be bankrolling the project, in association with MK Ramprasad.

Also, Goundamani, who was last seen in the 2016 courtroom drama, Vaaimai, was approached to play an important role in this film, as Santhanam was quite keen to get the veteran comedian on board for the role of his father. Goundamani's involvement in the project still remains unconfirmed.

Santhanam, meanwhile, has films like A1, Dagaalty, and Server Sundaram in different stages of production.
