RoboCop Returns to feature original suit

Neill Blomkamp, the director of RoboCop Returns, has revealed the suit featuring in the upcoming sequel will be identical to the one used in the original.

The 1987 film starred Peter Weller in the titular character Alex Murphy/ RoboCop, and it was directed Paul Verhoeven.

Blomkamp shared the information through his Twitter handle when a fan asked him if the film would feature the 'original suit'. He wrote, "1 million per cent original." About the progress of the film, he said, "Script is being written, and things are going well! Imagine watching Verhoeven do a follow-up film."
  
The 2014 RoboCop remake, starring Joel Kinnaman in the title role, saw the actor wearing a much sleeker suit. The new film is based on a script which was written years ago by original RoboCop writers Ed Neumeier and Michael Miner.
