Director Anurag Basu’s upcoming film is an action comedy anthology featuring four stories set in a quintessential Indian metro. The yet-to-be-titled film stars Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanya Malhotra, and Pankaj Tripathi. The intersecting narratives explore the ‘unavoidable jeopardies of life’ in a ‘slice-of-life’ fashion. Basu has already shot major sequences with Abhishek in Mumbai and Kolkata last year; the filmmaker was busy shooting with Rajkummar and Fatima in Bhopal recently.

Producer Bhushan Kumar of T-Series has come on board to produce the film, which is slated for release on September 6. “It’s my pleasure to be working with Bhushan for my next that is a dark comic anthology. It's our first collaboration, but doesn't seem like it. I am extremely happy to have found this talented new generation cast, though I will trust my old friend Pritam for music as always,” says Anurag.

Bhushan Kumar adds, “Anurag is a master storyteller and brings magic to celluloid in his films. I am happy we are working together. The characters and the story are so compelling yet the treatment is so amusing. We have tried to bring on board a terrific cast who perfectly fit the roles. The way the script and shooting are in progress, Anurag and I are already planning on doing another project. I am keen on doing more films with him and his team.”

Anurag Basu’s last directorial outing was Jagga Jasoos (2017), starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina, while Abhishek Bachchan was last seen in Anurag Kashyap’s Manmarziyaan. Rajkummar Rao’s upcoming releases include Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisha LagaMental Hai Kya and Made in China.
