A whirling machine, a country pistol and a hardbound book feature in the new motion poster of Mirzapur, an upcoming Amazon Prime Video original starring Ali Fazal, Vikrant Massy, Shweta Tripathi, and Pankaj Tripathi and Rasika Dugal.

Created by Karan Anushman and Puneet Krishna and produced by Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment, Mirzapur is an earthy gangster-drama set in North India and shot extensively in Varanasi, Mirzapur, and Mumbai. The show marks the web-space debut of director Gurmeet Singh. The filmmaker had previously directed the feature film, Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene (2015).

Ali Fazal was last seen in the Bollywood films, Fukrey Returns, and Happy Phir Bhag Jayegi. Vikrant Massey stole accolades for his performance in Konkona Sen Sharma's directorial debut, A Death in the Gunj. Shweta Tripathi shot to fame opposite Vicky Kaushal in Neerah Ghaywan's Masaan.

Mirzapur will be available for streaming later this year.
